Standard Duty Towbars

Standard Duty Towbars an also be referred to as Class 2 Towbars.  These towbars have a flat tongue that is held on with 2 bolts from the underneath.  They are typically rated up to 1600kg and are used for light loads on smaller cars such as a Hatch or Sedan.

European Towbars

European Towbars have a swan neck and the towball and ballmount are one solid piece. We have a large range of European Towbars here at Towbars Australia. There are a few different designs. European Towbars range in towing capacity up to 3500kg. 

The European Standard has a horizontal ballmount held on with bolts. 

The European Medium is typically a diagonally mounted ballmount which can be held on via bolts or a locking wheel.

The European Plus is the most popular European towbar as it removes vertically via the locking wheel.

European Towbars tend to have significantly less down ball weight then a heavy duty towbar may have.  So it is important to check this if you are towing close the the capacity.
